How to solve my LabelWriter not feeding labels?
If your LabelWriter is not feeding any labels out, that could happen due to several reasons. In order to fix this issue, please follow the steps below:
- Solution 1: Make sure that the power connection is fully connected from the back of the printer to the power cord, then to the power adapter to the outlet. Next, verify that the light at the front of the printer is lit (if applicable, turn on the power first). This usually ensures that the power cord and adapter are fully connected. If necessary, proceed to Solution 2.
- Solution 2: Check that the USB cable is connected directly from the back of the printer, to the computer, and not plugged into a USB hub or docking station. If necessary, proceed to Solution 3.
- Solution 3: The printer may need to be power cycled. Take the label roll out of the printer. Unplug the power cables from the back of the printer for about 30-60 seconds. Then, reconnect the power cords (without labels inserted). The printer’s motor should start running for a bit. When it stops, please load the labels back in. If necessary, proceed to Solution 4.
- Solution 4: Press the blue feed button or the forward arrow on the front of the printer. If more than one label comes out, or none, then the labels may be loaded improperly. Click HERE to see how to properly load the labels. If necessary, proceed to Solution 5.
- Solution 5: There may be a jam in the printer. To clear a label jam in the LabelWriter 300, 400 and 450 series, click HERE. To clear a label jam in the LabelWriter 550 series, click HERE.
- Solution 6: Check the power adapter and make sure that it has an output value that fits your printer’s requirements. To find out which adapter your printer needs, please see the list below.
-
- LabelWriter 450, 450 Turbo, 550 – 24V 1.75A
LabelWriter Wireless, 550 Turbo – 24V 2.5A
LabelWrtier 4XL, 5XL – 24V 3.75A
- LabelWriter 450, 450 Turbo, 550 – 24V 1.75A
- If it is less, than the wrong adapter has been connected to the printer and it is not receiving enough power. Please contact us to receive a replacement LabelWriter adapter. If none of the above solutions have worked, and the LabelWriter is still not feeding labels properly, it may indicate that your printer sensors are either dirty or damaged.
