How to solve the ‘BOOT-LOADER’ error on my LabelManager?

 

In this guide, we will provide you with troubleshooting steps to address the ‘Boot-Loader’ error when using the LabelManager label makers. This error message appears right after turning on the printer, using batteries or the power supply and indicates the device failed to properly boot up. The following steps can be tried.

 

 

Power cycle your printer and replace the batteries.

When using alkaline batteries:

1. Remove the batteries.
2. Press the power button 20 times to discharge the printer.
3. Replace the current batteries with fresh non-rechargeable batteries from a reputable brand.

When using a rechargeable Li-ion battery:

1. Remove the Li-ion battery.
2. Disconnect the power supply.
3. Use a dry cotton swab to wipe the silver connectors of the battery.
4. Press the power button 20 times to discharge the printer.
5. Put the battery back in the device.
6. Ensure the battery is fully charged.

 

Reset the printer.

1. Turn off the printer.
2. Disconnect the power supply.
3. Press the following key combination simultaneously (see diagrams below): Backspace + 9 button + On/Off button
4. The reset was successful when ‘erase’ appears on the display.

 

 

Please note: The following LabelManagers use a different key combination for this function. If you happen to be using any of the mentioned devices, kindly substitute the key combination provided in step 3 with the alternative one suggested below.

LabelManager 280: 9 button + On/Off button
LabelManager 210D+: Shift(Up arrow) + 9 button + On/Off button
