How to troubleshoot the DYMO Connect add-in for Word not loading?

 

The DYMO Connect add-in for Word allows you to directly print labels from Word to your LabelWriter (compatible with DYMO Connect). Once launched the add-in can be found on the right side of the Home tab. In case you encounter issues with starting up the add-in, this article will guide you on how to troubleshoot the DYMO Connect add-in for Word.

Please note: the DYMO Connect Web Service must be running for the AddiIn to work. This will in most cases be the cause of the issue.

Ensure the DYMO Connect Web Service is running. 

On Windows

    • 1. To find the icon, look at the bottom right under date and time (possibly hidden icons).

    • 2. Right-click on DYMO Connect Service and choose the “Diagnose” option.
      3. Then click YES, when given the option to do so.
      4. If positive, relaunch Word and open the DYMO add-in.

  • 5. If negative, please click HERE.

 

On Mac 

1. Look at the top right of your screen, near the WiFi icon, to find the icon.

2. Click on DYMO Connect Service and choose the “Diagnose” option.
3. Then click YES, when given the option to do so.
4. If positive, relaunch Word and open the DYMO add-in.

    • 5. If negative, please click HERE.

 

An error occurred when diagnosing the Web Service. 

If an error message appeared when diagnosing the service, you will have to close it off and launch it again (as an administrator).

On Windows

    • 1. To find the icon, look at the bottom right under date and time (possibly hidden icons).

    • 2. Right-click on DYMO Connect Service and choose the “Exit” option.
      3. At the bottom of the taskbar, click Start (the Windows logo).
      4. In the alphabetical list, search for the DYMO folder.
      5. In that folder, right click on “DYMO Connect Web Service” > More > Launch as Administrator.
      6. The icon is now visible in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
      7. Right-click this and choose the “Diagnose” option.
      8. Then click YES, when given the option for this.
      9. If positive, relaunch Word and open the DYMO add-in.

 

On Mac

    • 1. Look at the top right of your screen, near the WiFi icon, to find the icon.

    • 2. Click on DYMO Connect Service and choose the “Exit” option.
      3. Open Finder.
      4. Go to applications.
      5. Open the software: DYMO.WebApi.Mac.Host.
      6. The icon is now visible at the top right of the screen.
      7. Right-click on it and choose the “Diagnose” option.
      8. Then click YES, when given the option to do so.
      9. If positive, relaunch Word and open the DYMO add-in.
